In Loving Memory of Derrick Justin Teets

November 1, 1988 – October 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Derrick Justin Teets, who left us far too soon on October 4, 2026, at the age of 37.

Derrick was truly one of a kind. With a contagious laugh, an unforgettable smile, and a sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest of days, he had a special way of bringing happiness to those around him. Always the jokester, Derrick loved making people laugh and never missed an opportunity to bring a smile to someone’s face. Beneath his playful personality was a genuinely kind, generous, and giving heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those he cared about.

Derrick worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Ranger Construction, a career that reflected his hardworking nature and mechanical talents. Outside of work, he enjoyed the simple things that made life special — listening to 90s country music, riding BMX, everything Halloween, visiting Universal Studios, and, most importantly, spending time with the people he loved.

One of the most special parts of Derrick’s life was the incredible bond he shared with his twin brother, Darren Teets Jr. The two were more than brothers; they were best friends, inseparable companions, and a constant presence in each other’s lives. They shared countless memories, laughter, adventures, and a connection that only twins could truly understand.

To his younger sister, Madison, Derrick was more than just a big brother — he was her protector. He always looked out for her, making sure she knew she had someone in her corner no matter what. Whether through his protective nature, his teasing jokes, or the little ways he showed he cared, Derrick made her feel loved and safe. No matter how old she grew, she would always be his little sister. The comfort of knowing her big brother was looking out for her is something she will carry in her heart forever.

Derrick is survived by his loving mother, Lisa Teets; his beloved twin brother, Darren Teets Jr.; his sisters, Madison Costanzo and Megan Ronga; his stepdad, Jeff; his sister-in-law, Ashley; his brother-in-law, Sal; his young nephews, Jaxon and Jenson; and many other cherished family members and dear friends whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing him.

Although his time here was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories Derrick leaves behind will last a lifetime. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, his quick wit, his generous spirit, and the way he made everyone around him feel like family.

Derrick’s absence will be felt in countless ways — in the laughter he would have shared, the jokes he would have told, the adventures still waiting to be had, and all the ordinary moments that will never quite feel the same without him.

He was deeply loved, he will be forever missed, and he will never be forgotten.
